A 6 1/4" x 2 3/4" Bank Counter Check. Dated October 29, 1917 from The First National Bank of Carnegie in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. Paid to the Order of Kaufman Dept. The aforementioned "Kaufman" was Department Store Mogul Edgar J. Kaufmann commissioned Architects Frank Lloyd Wright & Richard Neutra to Design Homes for Him. The Wright Commission became "Fallingwater" in Pennsylvania. The Neutra Commission became the "Kauffmann House" in Palm Springs, California. Wagner Added a World Series Championship to his resume with the 1909 Pittsburgh Pirates. 1936 Baseball Hall of Fame Inductee via the BBWAA (95.13% First Ballot). The Flying Dutchman died in 1955. Although his signature remains available for a certain price point, to find a playing days example of a signed check with this strength of signature and fascinating architectural ties proves near impossible.

Authenticated & Encapsulated by PSA/DNA with assigned certification #81475677 & #E69750. Strength of Signature Graded GEM MT 10 by PSA/DNA. Punch canceled, mercifully not on the signature. Wrinkling and light creasing present at various locations.

Pencil notations in unknown hands. Pinholes above the Pay to the Order line. Despite all the condition issues, it presents remarkably well with attractive patina. Slight surface scratching and toning throughout, minimal wear to corners and borders, save any previous description.

Acrylic may have scuffs and scratches, but doesn't affect item. Glare on item from scans, not on item.
