Melvin Purvis lead a group of FBI agents to the Biograph Theater in Chicago on a hot steamy night on July 22, 1934. They were following a tip that John Dillinger would be attending a movie there called Manhatten also a Gangster story with a woman named Anna Sage who would be wearing a red dress. As they left the theater Purvis moved on Dillinger and several agents open fire striking him 4 times. His death was almost immediate.
